Caesars Entertainment, owners of the World Series of Poker franchise, has planned to use the beginning of the WSOP main event to launch the WSOP poker site in Nevada for fun play only however there appeared to be a problem that allowed several players to make real money deposits. Caesars Entertainment immediately acted on this and corrected the problem. Those deposits that were made by a limited number of players were not processed and notification was sent to those players alerting of the error.
The fun play site is gaining a large amount of interest and is allowing players in Nevada to gain insight on what they can expect from the poker site. This will be competing directly with the Ultimate Poker site that has already opened and accepting real money play for ring and tournament play. The WSOP site will require that players proof identity and provide proof that they live in the state of Nevada prior to being able to deposit. The poker room is compatible with mac and window operating systems.
The official launch date has yet to be confirmed but is expected to happen this summer and is highly anticipated. It is expected to give the new Ultimate Poker serious competition.
